What Is The Most Important Information I Should Know About Calcium And Vitamin D Combination
Ask a doctor or pharmacist if this medicine is safe to use if you have:
- kidney disease
- high levels of calcium in your blood
- circulation problems or
- a parathyroid gland disorder.
Ask a doctor before using this product if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Your dose needs may be different during pregnancy or while you are nursing.
How Do I Store And/or Throw Out Os
- Store at room temperature.
- Store in a dry place. Do not store in a bathroom.
- Keep all drugs in a safe place. Keep all drugs out of the reach of children and pets.
- Throw away unused or expired drugs. Do not flush down a toilet or pour down a drain unless you are told to do so. Check with your pharmacist if you have questions about the best way to throw out drugs. There may be drug take-back programs in your area.

How Should I Take Calcium And Vitamin D Combination
Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Check the label of your calcium and vitamin D combination product to see if it should be taken with or without food.
Take the regular tablet with a full glass of water.
The chewable tablet must be chewed before you swallow it.
Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow it whole.
Calcium and vitamin D may be only part of a complete program of treatment that also includes dietary changes. Learn about the foods that contain calcium and vitamin D.
Your supplement dose may need to be adjusted as you make changes to your diet. Follow your doctor’s instructions very closely.

Contraindications Of Orocal Vitamin D3 500 Mg / 200 Iu
Taking Orocal vitamin D3 500 mg / 200 IU is contraindicated in case of allergy to calcium, vitamin D or any of the other components, in case of severe kidney problems, high level of calcium in the blood or urine, kidney stones and high level of vitamin D in the blood.
Precautions for use require that you consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Orocal Vitamin D3 500 mg / 200 IU, especially if you are also taking diuretics or digitalis , have signs of impaired kidney function or have a marked tendency to form kidney stones. Sarcoidosis , osteoporosis, or taking other vitamin D-containing products are also cases where you should tell your doctor.
Orocal VItamine D3 500 mg / 200 IU may interact with other medications, especially with the absorption of products containing tetracyclines or quinolones if taken at the same time. Tetracyclines should be taken at least 2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after taking the drug.
Bisphosphonates should be taken one hour before taking Orocal Vitamin D3. Orocal may reduce
the effects of levothyroxine, so the tablet should be taken 4 hours before or after taking Orocal Vitamin D3.
The absorption of iron, zinc or strontium ranelate may be reduced by the calcium salts in Orocal vitamin D3. These should be taken 2 hours before or after Orocal.
Other drugs, such as thiazide diuretics and digitalis, Orlistat, may influence or be influenced by OROCAL VITAMIN D3 500 mg/200 IU, chewable tablet.

- If you are allergic to tartrazine, talk with your doctor. Some products have tartrazine.
- This medicine may prevent other drugs taken by mouth from getting into the body. If you take other drugs by mouth, you may need to take them at some other time than Os-Cal 500+D . Talk with your doctor.
- Follow the diet plan that your doctor told you about.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using Os-Cal 500+D while you are pregnant.
- Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about any risks to your baby.

- Constipation, bloating, and gas may occur
- Achlorhydria, which is common in elderly, may impair calcium absorption use the citrate salt and administer with food in such patients
- Hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria may occur in hypoparathyroid patients receiving high doses of vitamin D
- Use caution in patients with renal failure frequent monitoring of serum calcium and phosphorus necessary to prevent hypercalcemia
- Calcium supplements may interfere with absorption of some medications and minerals use caution
- Use caution administering calcium supplements to patients with a history of kidney stones
