How Do I Store And/or Throw Out Os

  • Store at room temperature.
  • Store in a dry place. Do not store in a bathroom.
  • Keep all drugs in a safe place. Keep all drugs out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Throw away unused or expired drugs. Do not flush down a toilet or pour down a drain unless you are told to do so. Check with your pharmacist if you have questions about the best way to throw out drugs. There may be drug take-back programs in your area.

How Should I Take Calcium And Vitamin D Combination

Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Check the label of your calcium and vitamin D combination product to see if it should be taken with or without food.

Take the regular tablet with a full glass of water.

The chewable tablet must be chewed before you swallow it.

Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow it whole.

Contraindications Of Orocal Vitamin D3 500 Mg / 200 Iu

Os Cal Calcium 500mg with Vitamin D3 200 IU, Caplets

Taking Orocal vitamin D3 500 mg / 200 IU is contraindicated in case of allergy to calcium, vitamin D or any of the other components, in case of severe kidney problems, high level of calcium in the blood or urine, kidney stones and high level of vitamin D in the blood.

Precautions for use require that you consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Orocal Vitamin D3 500 mg / 200 IU, especially if you are also taking diuretics or digitalis , have signs of impaired kidney function or have a marked tendency to form kidney stones. Sarcoidosis , osteoporosis, or taking other vitamin D-containing products are also cases where you should tell your doctor.

Orocal VItamine D3 500 mg / 200 IU may interact with other medications, especially with the absorption of products containing tetracyclines or quinolones if taken at the same time. Tetracyclines should be taken at least 2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after taking the drug.

Bisphosphonates should be taken one hour before taking Orocal Vitamin D3. Orocal may reduce

the effects of levothyroxine, so the tablet should be taken 4 hours before or after taking Orocal Vitamin D3.

The absorption of iron, zinc or strontium ranelate may be reduced by the calcium salts in Orocal vitamin D3. These should be taken 2 hours before or after Orocal.

Other drugs, such as thiazide diuretics and digitalis, Orlistat, may influence or be influenced by OROCAL VITAMIN D3 500 mg/200 IU, chewable tablet.

    • Achlorhydria, which is common in elderly, may impair calcium absorption use the citrate salt and administer with food in such patients
