The FTC suit says Nepute promoted his false health claims in lengthy video monologues on Facebook and elsewhere that were viewed millions of times.
When Facebook shut down his page in February, Nepute created a new page and website and reposted his videos, the suit says.
Neputes videos claimed that COVID-19 patients who get enough Vitamin D are 52% less likely to die and that people who get enough Vitamin D3 have a 77 percent less chance of getting infected in the first place, the FTC said, despite no competent and reliable scientific evidence or published studies to back up the claim. Nepute made similar, unsupported claims about zinc, according to the complaint.
Nepute and his company sell a bottle containing 30 soft gels of Wellness Warrior Vita D for $24.95, the complaint says, and $24 for a bottle of zinc pills.
Walgreens website Friday was offering 180 Vitamin D soft gels for about $13.
There are many internet videos by Nepute, including interviews on social media, and include claims that masks can be harmful and that coronavirus death statistics have been inflated. He has said that hes spoken to governors and members of Congress about health matters.
Nepute also has an office in south St. Louis County and a sports enhancement facility in Fenton, his website says.
Chiropractor First Person Charged Under Covid

A US district court will decide whether a chiropractor who is charged with 10 counts of making false marketing claims related to COVID-19 will be the first person convicted under a new federal law.
Eric Nepute, owner of Quickwork, based in St. Louis, Missouri, was the first person charged by the Federal Trade Commission under the COVID- 19 Consumer Protection Act.
According to the FTC complaint, filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the company, which has several locations in St. Louis County, advertised its vitamin D and zinc products on social media and the internet as drugs that could treat or prevent COVID-19.
“The Defendants even claim that their products are more effective than the available COVID-19 vaccines,” the complaint states.
In announcing the charges, acting FTC Chairwoman Rebecca Kelly Slaughter said that “the defendants’ claims that their products can stand in for approved COVID-19 vaccines are particularly troubling: we need to be doing everything we can to stop bogus health claims that endanger consumers.”
Nepute formed the company in January 2020, according to court documents.
The FTC warned Nepute’s company in May 2020 about making unsubstantiated claims for other products regarding efficacy against COVID-19. The letter advised Nepute to immediately stop making claims that were not supported by scientific evidence.

Nepute slammed the Food and Drug Administration for giving emergency use authorization to the vaccines that are associated to these horrifying figures. He also criticized the FDA for trying to withhold the documentation that they received from Pfizer for its COVID vaccine application.

CREVE COEUR A Creve Coeur chiropractor and his company made false claims that their zinc and Vitamin D products were more effective in treating or preventing COVID-19 than vaccines, the Federal Trade Commission said Thursday.
Despite warnings, Eric Anthony Nepute and his company, Quickwork LLC, which does business as Wellness Warrior, have continued to make the bogus health claims, the commission said.
Both Nepute and his company sell their products by disseminating misinformation, exploiting fears in the midst of a pandemic, and posing a significant risk to public health and safety, the commission said in a federal action seeking to block further sales. Nepute and his company could also face civil penalties.
Nepute did not immediately return a message Friday seeking comment.
The action against Nepute is the first in the country brought under the federal COVID-19 Consumer Protection Act, which makes it illegal to engage in a deceptive act or practice that is associated with the treatment, cure, prevention, mitigation, or diagnosis of COVID-19, the FTC said.

St. Louis-based chiropractor Dr. Eric Nepute owns Quickwork LLC, which marketed and sold Wellness Warrior vitamin supplements. In April 2021, the Department of Justice filed a case against Dr. Nepute based on a complaint filed by the Federal Trade Commission . At the forefront of the complaint, the commission alleged Dr. Nepute violated the COVID-19 Consumer Protection Act while marketing Wellness Warrior zinc and vitamin D supplements. It marked the first time charges were filed in violation of the newly created act. In the following interview, Dr. Eric Nepute shares his side of the story with The American Chiropractor .
TAC: What charges are alleged in the FTCs case against you?
EN: I have always been a very outspoken advocate for the freedom to choose, the first amendment right to freedom of speech, and informed choice as well as informed consent. In April 2021, I was the first doctor charged in a civil case against the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice . They have falsely accused me of utilizing fear as a way to drive profits for my businesses. This is a completely false claim, and we are fighting the federal government back at every opportunity we have.
TAC: Can you provide any details about how the charges came about and were filed? Has your states chiropractic board been involved in any way?

The Federal Trade Commission is taking unprecedented action against what it says is deceptive marketing of purported COVID-19 treatments.
The FTC has charged St. Louis-based chiropractor Eric Nepute, DC, and his company Quickwork with violating the COVID-19 Consumer Protection Act by marketing products containing vitamin D and zinc as proven to treat or prevent COVID-19, the agency said in an announcement.
The case is the first to be brought by the FTC under the new law enacted in January as a result of the pandemic.
According to the agency, Nepute and his company marketed products under the brand name “Wellness Warrior” that they claimed were as effective — or more effective — than COVID-19 vaccines.
In April of last year, Quickwork began selling Wellness Warrior products — previously sold to Nepute’s chiropractic patients — to all consumers online via the website wellnesswarrior.club, the FTC complaint stated. And as early as June 2020, Nepute began marketing the products as those to treat or prevent COVID-19 through videos posted to Facebook.
In May of last year, the FTC sent the chiropractor a warning letter that advised him to review claims for all his products and cease any claims not supported by scientific evidence, the complaint stated.
