Where To Get Vitamin C Injections

The Case Of Vitamin B12

Health Alert: Vitamin C Concerns

Research shows that oral nutrients can still be the better choice, even in cases where people have a proven difficulty in absorbing a particular nutrient such as vitamin B12.

This often surprises my patients for years, it was common practice to give intramuscular vitamin B12 injections to people who tested positive for specific antibodies, known as intrinsic factor antibodies. This was because in mechanistic studies, these antibodies had been clearly shown to make B12 absorption harder.

Now, however, we have better data from controlled clinical trials studies that overrule the mechanistic research. Instead of needing to use intramuscular vitamin B12 , these studies show you can simply use a much higher dose of oral B12 and get the same result for less outlay and much less inconvenience .

This also illustrates a general principle that weve found to be enormously helpful in the clinic while lab testing can be useful as a diagnostic tool, its not the be-all-and-end-all and should not prescribe a rigid course of action. What really matters for patients is the outcomes they experience.

Safe And Effective Nutrient

One of the greatest Vitamin C benefits is that, unlike some other nutrients that can be harmful in great quantities, you dont have to worry about taking too much. So, if youve already had an orange or broccoli before arriving at our clinic, dont worry. Your body will just flush out the excess Vitamin without any problem.

Despite this, its better to cap Vitamin C intake at 2000mg per day to avoid any stomach upset or diarrhea. While this isnt dangerous, its not necessary as lower amounts of the vitamin should be plenty, even for a booster. We always make sure to administer all of our nutrients in a safe dose thats effective, but wont cause you any side effects.

These Injections Can Protect Your Skin

These Vitamin C injection treatments are directly injected into the facial skin layer for effective results, repairing and protecting the skin from ultraviolet rays and other damaging impacts. These injections will penetrate the inner layers to trigger glowing and lighter skin while reducing dark spots significantly. The doses with Vitamin C and Glutathione represent potent antioxidants which protect the skin from wrinkle formation and free radicals.

Q1 Do Oncology Patients Have Compromised Vitamin C Status

Benefits of Vitamin C Injections

Vitamin C supports many important biological functions through its action as an electron donor , however, the vitamin C status of oncology patients is often not assessed in clinical trials or in clinical practice. Many studies have consistently shown that patients with cancer have lower mean plasma vitamin C status than healthy controls , and a large proportion of them present with hypovitaminosis C and outright deficiency . Although other case control studies have confirmed lower vitamin C status in patients with cancer , their control values were also quite low indicating possible issues with sample collection and/or analysis . Severity of the disease also appears to impact on vitamin C status with the proportion of lymphoma patients with hypovitaminosis C being significantly elevated for those with high-burden disease . Furthermore, patients with higher stage breast and cervical cancers had significantly lower vitamin C status than patients with lower stage disease . Ex vivo studies indicate that tumors from patients with colorectal cancer contained lower vitamin C concentrations than matched normal tissue , and higher grade colorectal and endometrial tumors had proportionately less vitamin C than lower grade tumors .

Vitamin C Has A Number Of Benefits

  • Normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise
  • Collagen formation which gives skin its elasticity and support
  • Supports our energy-yielding metabolism
  • Protects cells from oxidative stress
  • Reduces tiredness and fatigue

Vitamin C has a number of benefits these include working as a booster for the immune system, as an anti-viral and anti-oxidant. Vitamin C is also thought to raise neurotransmitter levels in the brain. There are limits to the amount of Vitamin C that it is safe to take orally, which is where IV therapy steps in. Infused intravenously direct into the bloodstream, it is possible to give Vitamin C in much higher doses.

We firmly believe that our IV drips, including Vitamin C IV Therapy, should never replace conventional medical treatment for serious health concerns. However, we see many patients that are undergoing medical treatment that is highly taxing on nutrient levels of the body and they are keen to address any deficiencies on their road back to health.

Potential Harm From Iv Vitamin Therapy

Most times, having an IV vitamin infusion wont cause any problems, as long as you are hooked up to the IV drip in clean conditions and have the needle inserted by a trained professional such as a registered nurse or paramedic.

But side effects can happen, and you should be aware of the possibility. Injecting nutrients straight into the bloodstream bypasses the normal filters of the stomach and intestines, so nutrient levels can rise much higher.

For example, vitamin C concentrations in the body are usually tightly controlled by intestinal absorption. Increasing the daily oral dose of vitamin C by more than 10 times, from 200 mg to 2,500 mg, only increases the blood concentration by 25% (from 12 mg/L to 15 mg/L . However, when vitamin C is infused into a vein, vitamin C concentration in tissues can reach about 200 times higher than that from the same dose given orally [25

Some may argue that mega-dosing nutrients more easily is the exact point of IV vitamin therapy. However, while there is still little evidence of health benefits, Id urge caution.

There can be specific dangers for some people, like those who have:

  • Kidney disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • High blood pressure

In these conditions, there is a risk of fluid overload. Potassium-containing IV vitamin therapy could also lead to a heart attack in those with poorly functioning kidneys, as these patients may be unable to clear this mineral from the body quickly enough .

Vitamin B12 Shots And Deficiencies

The primary purpose of receiving a Vitamin B12 shot is to ensure that your body receives a sufficient amount of vitamin B12 to perform its essential functions such as red blood cell production or neurological functioning. When B12 cannot be absorbed through food sources, it can be gained from a man-made version of the nutrient called cyanocobalamin.

Vitamin B12 shots contain high levels of cyanocobalamin to rectify any shortages in the body. The shots can be self-administered, although we recommend going to a professional to ensure adequate delivery without any hassle. These shots can quickly boost the level of B12 in your body, making up for any deficiencies.

It is possible to consume cyanocobalamin through a variety of means. The man-made vitamin can be found in liquid, tablet, or capsule form. Foods generally lacking in vitamin B12 can also be fortified with cyanocobalamin to increase the B12 content. The most effective and direct delivery method, however, remains the vitamin B12 shot.

What Studies Have Been Done Using High

Laboratory studies and animal studies have been done to find out if high-dose vitamin C may be useful in preventing or treating cancer.

Laboratory studies

Many laboratory studies have been done to find out how high-dose vitamin C may cause the death of cancer cells. The anticancer effect of vitamin C in different types of cancer cells involves a chemical reaction that makes hydrogen peroxide, which may kill cancer cells.

Laboratory studies have shown the following:

  • Treatment with high-dose vitamin C slowed the growth and spread of prostate, pancreatic, liver, colon, malignant mesothelioma, neuroblastoma, and other types of cancer cells.
  • Combining high-dose vitamin C with certain types of chemotherapy may be more effective than chemotherapy alone:
  • Ascorbic acid with arsenic trioxide may be more effective in ovarian cancer cells.
  • Ascorbic acid with gemcitabine may be more effective in pancreatic cancer cells.
  • Ascorbic acid with gemcitabine and epigallocatechin-3-gallate may be more effective in malignant mesothelioma cells.
  • Another laboratory study suggested that combining high-dose vitamin C with radiation therapy killed more glioblastoma multiforme cells than radiation therapy alone.
  • However, not all laboratory studies combining vitamin C with anticancer therapies have shown benefit. Combining dehydroascorbic acid, a particular form of vitamin C, with chemotherapy made it less effective in killing some kinds of cancer cells.

    Prevent Sagging Of The Skin

The skin firmness and elasticity are associated with the production of collagen. When the level of collagen is low, the skin begins to sag. IV Vitamin C therapy boosts collagen production, making the skin firm and tight. This makes it ideal for sagging due to natural aging, extreme weight loss, and oxidative stress.

    Many People Are Deficient

The recommended daily intake of vitamin B12 is 6 micrograms per day.

Deficiency is common, especially in people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet.

In fact, its thought that up to 90% of people following these diets have a deficiency .

This is because B12 is only found naturally in animal foods.

However, vegans and vegetarians are not the only ones who are deficient. Even some meat eaters dont absorb it very well .

Unlike other vitamins, the absorption of vitamin B12 depends on a protein produced in your stomach, called intrinsic factor.

Intrinsic factor binds to vitamin B12, so that you can absorb it into the blood. People who dont produce enough intrinsic factor can become deficient.

Deficiency is particularly common in elderly people, because the ability to absorb vitamin B12 can decrease with age .

Other people at risk of deficiency include those who have had intestinal surgery, including weight loss surgery. Those with diseases that affect the gut, such as Crohns disease or celiac disease, are also at risk .

    Bottom Line:

Those at greatest risk of vitamin B12 deficiency are vegans and vegetarians, who get little to no B12 from the diet. Deficiency can also be caused by poor absorption.

Are There Side Effects To B12 Injections

For the most part, B12 injections are very safe and have few side effects. There is no harm in taking large amounts of B12 as the body only uses what it needs and naturally expels any excess. After receiving a B12 injection, there may be some pain or redness at the injection site, and there is the possibility of mild diarrhea, itchiness and the feeling of swollen skin all over your body. However, there is only cause for concern if these symptoms persist. Allergic reactions to B12 shots are very rare, but symptoms that require medical attention include a rash, itchiness or swelling in the face or mouth and dizziness.

Side Or Back Of Upper Arm

As with the intramuscular B12 injection site on the arm, you can use the side or back of your upper arm for a subcutaneous injection. This may be easier when using the help of another person, whether that be a family member, friend, or caregiver. Pinch a thick layer of skin on the upper side of your arm and inject the needle at the appropriate angle into this pinched skin.

    What Is Vitamin C

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is an important vitamin for skin and overall body health. It helps repair tissues, boost the immune system, and is necessary for any enzymatic reaction in the body. Vitamin C is also popular as an excellent antioxidant found naturally in various fruits and vegetables. It is a major ingredient in many over-the-counter medicines, and it is also available as a supplement or as a serum for the skin.

Douse Inflammation And Lower Your Crp Levels

COVID-19 patient treated with experimental Vitamin C megadose

Inflammation plays an important role in cancer formation and promotes the replication of cancer cells, their survival, and their migration throughout the body. One of the traditional blood tests for monitoring inflammation in the body is C reactive protein . In one study of over 274,000 people, about one third of deaths in a community were due to cancer. Those with an increased CRP had a higher risk of dying from cancer than from any other cause including cardiovascular disease.

Research also shows that your level of CRP is a good predictor of cancer survival.11Research at the Riordan Clinic has found that a series of IVC sessions can lower CRP by approximately 75%. They concluded that this reduction in CRP correlated with a drop in tumor markers including the PSA in prostate cancer.

High dose IVC also aids in detoxification and improving cell energy function. More specifically it improves oxygenation of the cells. Cancer cells dont do well in an oxygenated environment and IVC shifts cells to an aerobic environment instead of the anaerobic state that leads to the creation of more cells.

    • According to Hunninghake, his research team has documented seven ways that IVC fights cancer. Hunninghakes Seven Hallmarks of Cancer that IVC deals with are:
    • Self-sufficiency of growth signals

    Helps To Prevent Other Conditions

You may have heard of antioxidants before, but have you ever researched exactly what they are? In essence, they are the micronutrients Vitamin B, Vitamin C, and beta-carotene, found in many fruit and vegetables. When you ingest these substances, they can protect you from many of the toxic pollutants we all have to live with in the modern world.

When your body comes into contact with harmful substances like nicotine, this isnt immediately damaging. But over time, these toxic chemicals can build up and cause a variety of serious conditions, including cancer, heart disease, and even arthritis. By supplying your body with antioxidants, you can prevent this from happening and ensure that you stay healthy for the long term.

    Evaluation Of Cam Therapies

It is important that the same scientific methods used to test conventional therapies are used to test CAM therapies. The National Cancer Institute and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health are sponsoring a number of clinical trials at medical centers to test CAM therapies for use in cancer.

Conventional approaches to cancer treatment have generally been studied for safety and effectiveness through a scientific process that includes clinical trials with large numbers of patients. Less is known about the safety and effectiveness of complementary and alternative methods. Few CAM therapies have been tested using demanding scientific methods. A small number of CAM therapies that were thought to be purely alternative approaches are now being used in cancer treatmentnot as cures, but as complementary therapies that may help patients feel better and recover faster. One example is acupuncture. According to a panel of experts at a National Institutes of Health meeting in November 1997, acupuncture has been found to help control nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy and pain related to surgery. However, some approaches, such as the use of laetrile, have been studied and found not to work and to possibly cause harm.
