Skinceuticals Phloretin Cf Serum

Timeless Skin Care Vitamin C serum vs Skinceuticals CE ferulic | Dr Dray

Campbell called SkinCeuticals “the gold standard” of topical vitamin C serums. She recommended the Phloretin CF serum for those with oily skin while the C E Ferulic serum is the “best option for all skin types,” especially those with dry and combination skin. She noted both serums are “effective” antioxidant treatments that “help prevent and treat oxidative stress. Phloretin CF serum received a 4.8-star average rating from more than 540 reviews on Dermstore.

What Are The Most Effective Eva Natural Vitamin C Serums

Since your company probably deals with a variety of items, youll need a device that can adapt to different sizes, weights, heights, etc. It may be smaller and cheaper, but it has high quality despite its size and cost.

Different eva natural vitamin c serums are available in the market today for accomplishing common office tasks.

It May Help Prevent Skin Sagging

Collagen production is tied to skin elasticity and firmness. When your collagen levels begin to drop, your skin may begin to sag.

Applying a vitamin C serum may boost collagen production, resulting in an overall tightening effect, reports a 2017 review . This is true for sagging due to natural aging, oxidative stress damage, or extreme weight loss.

This means it can help reduce the appearance of sagging skin, making your skin look firmer and more toned.

How To Apply Timeless 20% Vitamin C Serum

Timeless used to advise twice daily application, and Id shared then that vitamin C serum shouldnt need multiple application as it can last at least a day on the skin. Furthermore, multiple application a day could exacerbate skin irritation.

In 2021, the instruction has changed to once a day and Timeless recommends evening application. If you prefer daytime application, Timeless asks that you follow up with a sunscreen.

Personally, I prefer morning application as that was an advice from my aesthetic doctorthat doing so can ensure maximum benefit when UV exposure is at its peak. Heres an extract from self.com:

vitamin C becomes less effective when exposed to light, so its important to give it time to absorb into your skin before going outside You dont need to wait a specific amount of timeas long as its absorbed, youre good to go. ~ self.com

How Should You Incorporate Vitamin C Into Your Skin

Vitamin C Serum with Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid and Jojoba Oil 2 fl.oz ...

Sara Hogan, M.D., a dermatologist at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, previously told SELF that the right time to add vitamin C into your skin-care routine depends on what kind of product it is. As far as serums are concerned, theyre best applied directly after cleansing your skin but before moisturizing it.

Since vitamin C is available in a number of concentrationsfrom below 5% up to 30%its important to choose yours wisely depending on your skin type. Dr. Hogan suggested those with dry or sensitive skin stick to lower concentrations, which are usually less irritating, as we mentioned above. Oily skin types, or those who deal with extensive pigmentation issues, can likely handle higher serum intensities to improve tone and texture.

If you use retinol or benzoyl peroxide on a regular basis, dermatologists advise steering clear of using a vitamin C serum at the same time, as the combination can cause it to lose potency. Since its more effective to use vitamin C in the morningit becomes unstable once the ingredient is exposed to light, and thats when UV radiation is at its highestprofessionals recommend using benzoyl peroxide and retinol at night, or on different days of the week for the best results. And if youre wondering about the effects of using a vitamin C serum along with a different active ingredient you rely on in your skin-care routine, be sure to do some research into whether it makes sense to combine them before you dive in.

Potential Side Effects And Risks

Although irritation is unlikely, you should always do a patch test before full application. This is the only way to determine how your skin will react to the serum.

If your skin is especially sensitive, avoid products with L-ascorbic acid. Products with magnesium ascorbyl phosphate may be less likely to cause irritation.

Serum stability is affected by two things: product formulation and packaging.

The following vitamin C derivatives are designed to retain potency for longer:

  • L-ascorbic acid
  • ascorbyl palmitate
  • magnesium ascorbyl phosphate

You should also ensure that the product has a water-free formulation. And the bottle should be opaque and airtight.

What Does Vitamin C Serum Do For The Skin

Vitamin C is helpful for those with mature skin or looking to reduce signs of aging. It is an excellent antioxidant because it protects against free radical damage and oxidative stress, Campbell noted.

Think of sun and pollution creating reactive oxygen species in the skin that are breaking up collagen and elastin, causing premature aging, sun damage and wrinkles, she explained. Antioxidants like vitamin C chew up these free radicals, which helps protect your skin from damage and makes your sunscreen work better.

Vitamin C is also a great ingredient for anyone with acne-prone skin for several reasons, according to Joshua Zeichner, MD, a board-certified dermatologist: It can help neutralize inflation and prevent breakouts, brighten dark spots left behind when pimples heal it can also treat melasma and can calm rosacea, Campbell added. However, Zeichner advised those with acne-prone skin avoid vitamin C serums paired with vitamin E, a moisturizing ingredient that can cause breakouts. If you have dry or mature skin, vitamin E is a great ingredient to look out for in your vitamin C serum.

What Can Vitamin C Do For Your Skin

In skin care, a great vitamin C tip is that it can do a few really helpful things if you know its use. First, vitamin C can actually inhibit the production of melanin, the pigment in the skin, which makes it a crucial ingredient for managing hyperpigmentation and generally evening out skin tone.

Second, vitamin C acts as an antioxidant, which means it can help neutralize free radicals. These are unstable atoms that form as a result of exposure to environmental stressors like UV rays and pollution. Over time, free radicals can cause oxidative stress, which can harm the skin and cause premature signs of aging. Using sunscreen daily along with a potent antioxidant like vitamin C is the best way to protect yourself from damage due to free radicals.

Best For Sensitive Skin: Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Serum

TruSkin Vitamin C Facial Serum with Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid, 1 fl ...

Vichy

  • 15% pure vitamin C formulation

  • Easy to apply, absorbs quickly

  • Some users dislike scent

If you have sensitive skin, you may want to be particularly careful when it comes to choosing a vitamin C serum.

Its important to find a formulation that works for your sensitive skin type not all vitamin C serums are created equal and many formulations range from five to 30 percent , Dr. Palm explains.

Dr. Saedi suggests avoiding more potentially irritating vitamin C serums, so starting with one like Vichy LiftActiv Vitamin C might be less likely to cause a reaction than most other effective products it contains a high level of pure vitamin C, but she points out that its a more hydrating form with a lower percentage of ascorbic acid. Because its formula is only made of 11 ingredients, there’s less of a chance for an irritating ingredient to trigger a reaction.

That means its less likely to cause irritation to sensitive skin, and since the Vichy serum also includes hyaluronic acid, is made with clean ingredients, and is paraben-, fragrance-, and oil-free, its worth giving it a try if youve got sensitive skin.

  • Giosays:

Allison, yes I think thats a wonderful product too but if I were to list all the vitamin C serums I like, this post would be way too long. lol

In the end, Timeless didnt make the cut because it has a higher dose of vitamin C. That means its potentially more effective but also potentially more irritating for sensitive skin.

  • Barbarasays:

Gio actually recommends Timeless in one of her older articles . I liked it but felt that it oxidized too quickly.
