Enzymatic Fatigued To Fantastic 6 Energy Revitalization System Including B Complex
4.0 – Works for me
As an adult over 40 I had suffered from a case of long term mononucleosis during most of 2011. I noticed that even after testing negative towards the end of 2011 and into 2012 that I still had major problems with fatigue, general low energy, endurance , clear thinking, etc. I was concerned that I was developing chronic fatigue syndrome, which I’d read can happen if you have a long term case of mono. I started taking this powder daily in June 2012 and noticed a significant improvement in energy and endurance, almost right away. For me, its a less expensive alternative to a lot of protien powders I’ve seen on the market and it has given me good results. I usually will take about 1/2 a scoop to a full scoop depending on if I’m supplementing a meal or using as a full meal replacement and I can make 1 container last approximately 2 months.
2.0 – Tastes Awful
5.0 – Finally, Something That Works
I have had chronic fatigue for years. Whenever I went to the Dr. complaing of fatigue they would recommend Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft and other preciptions meds. They tried to treat me for depression even though I told them I was not unhappy, just very tired.
Naturopathic Treatment For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome And Fibromyalgia
*Last updated February 2021 by Eric Chan
A large proportion of my naturopathic patients present with some form of fatigue and fibromyalgia type pain. In many cases, the fatigue may be a symptom of a coexisting condition. For example, fatigue is one of the many symptoms of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, anemia, hypothyroidism, congestive heart failure, and so forth. In fact, fatigue can be a symptom of many disease processes. This is why a conventional workup, including history, examination, and when necessary, laboratory investigation, is necessary to rule out other disease processes that may contribute to fatigue.
In these cases, the fatigue is secondary, and will likely improve when treatment for the primary condition has been successful.
But what about the patient, where fatigue persists and no conventional cause or diagnosis can be found?
The numbers are actually quite staggering, as the CDC states that up to 4 million Americans suffer from the disease that has been labelled chronic fatigue syndrome. When specific types of pain and sensitivity are present, then the diagnosis is chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Diagnosis can be a challenge because there are no consistent lab biomarkers that are specific for CFS that are readily available to test, patient’s do not look sick, as mentioned above, fatigue is common to many other illnesses, and finally, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia can tend to relapse and remit.

How Is Cfs Diagnosed
- There is no specific diagnostic test for CFS. A diagnosis of CFS first requires that other potential causes of fatigue be ruled out.
- Diagnostic criteria for CFS include chronic, unexplained fatigue for at least six months, which is of new onset, is not the result of ongoing exertion, is not substantially relieved by rest, and hinders occupational, social, or personal activities.
- Two additional symptoms must also be present: unrefreshing sleep and post-exertional malaise .
- Impaired memory or concentration and/or worsening of symptoms on standing up or sitting upright is also necessary for a diagnosis of CFS.

Study Sheds Light On Origins Of Diabetes
An international study unprecedented in both scale and scope has provided some important answers to the mysteries of how diabetes developsnot least of which is the answer to a century-old debate about whether genetic differences are shared and common, or rare and individual.
Led by researchers from the United States and England, more than 300 scientists from 22 countries used DNA from 120,000 individuals to pinpoint genes and their variants.
The collaboration brought together two research projects: GoT2D and T2D-DENES. The research teams completed whole-genome sequencing of more than 2,600 people and exome sequencing of 12,940, as well as genome- or exome-wide array genotyping of 111,548 people. Unlike most previous studies, which involved only people of European ancestry, this study included people with ancestral origins in Europe, South and East Asia, the Americas, and Africa.
The conclusions seem clear, agreed Mark McCarthy, Group Head of the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. He noted, he evidence is increasingly stacking up in favor of the view that most of the genetic risk of T2D can be attributed to common alleles that are widely shared within, and between, human populations.
What Is Chronic Fatigue
This condition is best known by medical professionals as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome . Its a disorder that can be characterized by the feeling of extreme tiredness with no feeling of refreshment after sleep.
Imagine going to bed at night only to wake up feeling as if you didnt go to bed at all. Doesnt sound like sweet dreams now, does it?
Plus, the symptoms and signs only worsen if you take part in strenuous physical or mental activities, and they dont improve after rest and relaxation either. Its a slippery, downhill slope!

Mistake #1 You Dont Need To Take Supplements If You Eat A Healthy Diet
Soil depletion and other factors make it impossible to know if diet alone meets our nutrient needs. More importantly, perhaps, Dr. Craig asserts that the demands placed on the body by high levels of oxidative stress plus the immune system alterations and energy depletion found in ME/CFS suggests that supplementation is going to be needed.
The right diet is an important part of Dr. Craigs program, but a good diet is not enough
Finally, with no FDA approved drugs available, Dr. Craig proposes that a smart evidence-based use of supplements may be the best way ME/CFS patients have of improving their symptoms.
The research on the need for supplements in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is sparse, but what is there suggests supplementation can help.
Several studies have found, for instance, low levels of B-vitamins in ME/CFS patients. A 1999 study found low blood levels of vitamins B-1 and B-6. A 2014 study found that giving ME/CFS patients a multivitamin/multimineral supplement for two months resulted in an increase in antioxidant status as well as significant reductions in fatigue, flu-like symptoms, sleep problems, autonomic nervous system symptoms, and headaches.
Diet & Herbal Supplements For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
With an increased inclination towards alternative medicine, it is not uncommon to see numerous dietary supplements and other herbal preparations being marketed everyday that claim to benefit patients with CFS or even cure them. Patients are however warned against such unscrupulous claims, as it can lead to adverse effects or cross reactivity between other medicines used for CFS treatment. It is always advisable to consult with the treating physician before using any such form of therapy. Vitamin A, C and B12, iron, zinc, selenium, germanium, magnesium sulfate, adenosine monophosphate, glutathione and melatonin are some of the most commonly referred vitamins, minerals or coenzymes that claim a therapeutic benefit.
Herbal preparations of Ginkgo biloba, ginseng, garlic, comfrey, bromelain, astralagus and others such as borage seed oil, primrose oil, and mushroom extract also claim to offer relief to CFS patients, the effectiveness of which is yet to be established.

What Nutrients May Benefit Cfs
- Roburin-rich French oak wood extract: In an open-label controlled trial that evaluated patients with CFS, roburin-rich French oak wood extract was demonstrated to relieve a wide range of CFS symptoms.
- L-carnitine: A study of CFS subjects compared the FDA-approved antiviral drug amantadine with L-carnitine authors concluded L-carnitine was better tolerated and produced significantly greater clinical improvement.
- D-ribose: Ribose is critical to the synthesis of important biological compounds as well as many compounds involved in cellular energy production and transfer, and low levels of ATP generation are considered one possible underlying mechanism for fatigue upon minimal exertion in CFS.
- Probiotics:Several studies have found that probiotic bacteria such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium may decrease symptoms of CFS.
- B vitamins: B vitamin-related enzyme activity has been found to be lower in patients with CFS, and women receiving a daily low potency multivitamin/mineral supplement containing B vitamins had significantly less fatigue, better sleep, and fewer and less intense headaches.
- Adaptogenic herbs: Adaptogenic herbs are of particular interest in CFS due to their reputation for boosting energy as well as their possible effects on the HPA-axis and on supporting healthy immune system function. Some adaptogens considered promising for CFS include Rhodiola rosea , Panax ginseng, and Ashwagandha.

Five Supplement Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make With Fibromyalgia Or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Over the past fifteen years Ive spent thousands of dollars on supplements, most of which had absolutely no effect on my symptoms. Dr. Courtney Craig Youtube video
To take or not take supplements is a big question in disorders like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia where the list of FDA approved drugs is short and not particularly impressive.
Hope springs eternal with supplements. Better than hope, though, is a good guide.
Where there are no drugs, though, there are always supplements each purporting to be helpful each suggesting it might provide the critical nutrient you need to turn your health around. Hope springs eternal with supplements and maybe it should. The supplement field encompassing herbs, vitamins, minerals, neutraceuticals, probiotics, medical foods, etc. is enormous. With thousands of combinations available and new possibilities coming out regularly, supplements can potentially make a major impact on our health.
The very size of the field, though, makes the challenge of picking the right supplements and using them correctly a daunting one. Its an area you can very quickly dump a lot of money into without results.
In this first part of a two-part blog we check out some of the supplement mistakes we all may have made in Dr. Courtney Craigs video, The Top Five Supplement Mistakes and How to Avoid Them.
Depression Stress And Anxiety
Adjusting to a chronic, debilitating illness sometimes leads to other problems, including depression, stress, and anxiety. Many patients with ME/CFS develop depression during their illness. When present, depression or anxiety should be treated. Although treating depression or anxiety can be helpful, it is not a cure for ME/CFS.
Some people with ME/CFS might benefit from antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications. However, doctors should use caution in prescribing these medications. Some drugs used to treat depression have other effects that might worsen other ME/CFS symptoms and cause side effects. When healthcare providers are concerned about patients psychological condition, they may recommend seeing a mental health professional.
Some people with ME/CFS might benefit from trying techniques like deep breathing and muscle relaxation, massage, and movement therapies . These can reduce stress and anxiety, and promote a sense of well-being.

Treatment Of Candida Infection
Candida albicans is a common resident of the healthy human intestinal tract. However, overgrowth of candida may cause health problems, including CFS-like symptoms, and may be involved in CFS in some individuals. A study found a higher number of C. albicans in fecal samples of CFS subjects during acute CFS symptom exacerbation compared with the remission phase when symptoms were less pronounced.151 A positive response of a large number of patients with CFS to an oral antifungal agent and a diet for intestinal candidiasis has also been described.152 The observational and uncontrolled nature of these studies make more rigorous study of the relationship between candida overgrowth and CFS necessary.
More information on fungal infections and candida is available in the Fungal Infections protocol.
Mistake # 2 All Supplements Are Created Equal Brand Doesnt Matter
Because the FDA does not regulate the supplement industry, supplement companies release products without federal oversight and unknown quality control. Independent testing to ensure that each supplement has the ingredients listed on its label is not required. Dr. Craig only uses supplements that carry one of three labels on the bottle that indicate it has passed a test by an independent agent that ensures the facilities that produce the supplement are adequate and/or that their supplements are pure and potent.
- Good Manufacturing Practices
- NSF National Sanitation Foundation
- USP indicates the supplement is of pharmaceutical grade
Dr. Craig also states that, with little way to know how long theyve been on the shelves, store-bought vitamins may have questionable potency.
She also suggests being on the lookout for fillers , cornstarch, eggs, nuts, dairy, shellfish and dyes) which companies sometimes add to supplements to increase their shelf-life and improve their presentation. These additives can cause problems for some individuals. If you have an allergy and are not sure what is in a particular product, contact the company.

Viral And Other Infections
Post-viral fatigue syndrome or post-viral syndrome describes a type of chronic fatigue syndrome that occurs following a viral infection. A recent review found Epstein-Barr virus antibody activity to be higher in patients with CFS, and that a subset of patients with CFS were likely to have increased EBV activity compared to controls. Viral infection is a significant risk factor for CFS, with one study finding 22% of people with EBV experience fatigue six months later, and 9% having strictly defined CFS. A systematic review found that fatigue severity was the main predictor of prognosis in CFS, and did not identify psychological factors linked to prognosis. One review found risk factors for developing CFS after mononucleosis, dengue fever including longer bed-rest during the illness, poorer pre-illness physical fitness, attributing symptoms to physical illness, belief that a long recovery time is needed, as well as pre-infection distress and fatigue.
Similar risk factors have also been found following the bacterial infection Q-fever. The same review found biological factors such as CD4 and CD8 activation and liver inflammation are predictors of sub-acute fatigue but not CFS however, these findings are not generally accepted due to the use of the Oxford criteria in selecting patients. The CDC does not recognize attribution of symptoms as a risk factor.
